The separateness experienced by humanity all around the globe at the start of the pandemic heightened the realization of how much we truly need one another. Just as flowers need bees and vice versa, life in all forms is immeasurable better together.
This was my first painting of the pandemic, as well as the first after the passing of my beloved mother who so loved her garden and all the creatures that thrived there. I found comfort in expressing a joyful togetherness with this artwork, which helped lift me from the sadness of my loss and uncertainty of the times we had so recently entered as a species.
